Ku and Ka VSAT bands are finally combined into one single high-performing integrated antenna, compounding two universes for higher speed and better coverage.
The all-new BB110 multi-band Ku/Ka benefits from the same dual-band technology developed for the BB75Ku/Ka, adding a more rugged and flexible RF configuration and a higher gain, ready for High Throughput Satellites as well as wider coverage beams. It is a truly global antenna suitable for the professional and the yacht market.
Engineered around extensively sea trialled BB100Ku antenna, the BB110Ku/Ka benefits from an innovative switching technology, allowing quick and automated commuting among available satellites globally. An intuitive screen app manages network preferences, coverage areas and security features.


The dish has been redesigned around a broadband corrugated feed horn, for maximum uncompromised efficiency on all bands. The antenna is equipped with a triple RF payload that is connected to the multiband feed horn by an innovative mechanical switch. This elegant solution allows for a truly multi-band and multi-technology antenna, able to work in all Ku band modes, and compatible with the most widespread Ka-band technologies: Viasat and iDirect/Telenor. The antenna is thus able to seamlessly roam between different geographical coverage areas, between Ku and Ka-band, and between different technologies and providers in Ka-band. One of the two Ka-band payloads can be optionally be equipped with military band compatible equipment.
The 110 cm carbon-fibre dish is mounted over a 3-axis chassis 100% made with aeronautical grade aluminum. The tracking is managed by state-of-the-art software and high-precision inertial sensors that exclude the need for an external gyro, resulting in superior tracking performance in any weather.
An innovative “Super-tuned” radome was specifically designed to reduce losses and the depolarization effects in Ka-band.


The mechanics guarantee a wide working range with -20/+100 degrees in elevation and +/- 30 degrees in roll to allow uninterrupted operation at northern latitudes and/or in rough sea.
Structural and vibration analysis inherited from Oil&Gas and Military operations was employed to guarantee maximum stiffness of the structure.
All electronic components, including the antenna controller unit (ACU), the iDirect KU/KA band satellite modem and the switching logic are embedded inside the dome, allowing for a simple and hassle-free installation: a single technician can do it in less than an hour thanks to reduced weight and compact design.


Special care in the use of multi-spotbeam HTS was embedded in the software design. Pre-loaded coverage maps and signal fading prediction allow for smooth transitions between spot beams and bands to achieve optimum availability. The antenna controller and switching logic take care of roaming between bands, beams, and satellites.


IEC60945 compliance for EMI, Climatic and Vibration requirements means that the antenna is qualified for professional maritime equipment applications demanding hi-speed worldwide connectivity like cruise ship, Hi-end luxury yachts, military applications and Oil & Gas heavy duty operations.
The antenna can be managed and updated locally or remotely by the same software run by Skytech for all other antenna series, making it fully supported by the Skytech Service Centre throughout its life, within a single or fleet diagnostics with intuitive web-based server, gathering real-time and historical performance information from all ships.
